Melodee Risi and Chera Boom
This year’s festival clinicians, Melodee Risi and Chera Boom bring 26 years of experience in singing and teaching the barbershop craft. They are both dedicated to teaching and sharing the joy of music with the young women of Alaska. They are enrolled in the Sweet Adeline’s Director’s Certification Program and are part of Alaska Sound Celebration’s musical leadership. They frequently visit Anchorage and Mat-Su Valley schools with their award winning quartet, Impromptu, to introduce music students to the fun of a cappella music.
Melodee is a gifted pianist and is an integral part of her church worship music team and has many years of working with with children in a variety of environments. Chera is pursuing a music education degree at UAA, and is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the National Association for Music Education.
